Have you ever sat through hours of audio recordings, trying to find that one golden snippet you wanted to share? Have you ever wanted to transform lengthy content into bite-sized social media clips, but ran out of time? Look no further. AI is here to change the audio landscape. Dive in as we explore how AI doesn't just transcribe, but smartly finds those moments that truly resonate while saving you time. Read (or skip) to the end for a special 2 week free trial code!

Lost in Hours of Content

We've all been there. You've recorded your episode, the guest was amazing, your questions were on point and it was a fantastic conversation! You're not really the type to take notes (you're in the flow!) but you know there was some real gold to be mined from this episode. Problem is, it was 2-3 hours of talking! There is some great stuff there, but it's going to take a while to find it. Fortunately, with the powers of AI transcription and content analysis, it's a lot easier to pinpoint those amazing moments so they can be turned into video clips or promotional posts for your social media. In this blog post, we'll give you the lowdown on how to use AI most effectively and save you a whole lot of time.

Traditional Transcription Doesn't Tell The Whole Story

Traditional transcription methods, while undeniably useful, often present a one-dimensional view of audio content. They give us the words, but strip away the nuances—tone, emotion, emphasis—that make spoken language so impactful. Without these layers of context, the resultant text can feel sterile, making it challenging to identify those standout moments. Moreover, while transcription might help in making content searchable, it does little to prioritise or categorise the value of what's been spoken. In essence, you're left with a manuscript, but without the markers to quickly locate its highlights.

The Power of AI: Beyond Simple Transcription

While transcription is important (in fact it's essential), it's not giving us the full picture. AI and Large Language Models are sophisticated enough now that they can tell you where the most engaging parts of your content lie. They can provide an overview of the themes and topics within your content, and pull out the most engaging, interesting and even fun parts.

How to Use SoundMadeSeen to Unlock Your Best Content

SoundMadeSeen is using the latest in AI technology to both transcribe your audio content (Thanks to AssemblyAI) and analyse it (utilising Anthropic's Claude engine).

We've also made a video showing how easy it is to use our transcription and analysis tools!

Step 1

Sign up to SoundMadeSeen if you haven't already.

Step 2

Upload or record your audio, or select an episode from your podcast. Once you've done so you'll see a screen like the following:

audio-transcribe

Step 3

As you can see, you have the option to transcribe your audio! Select the type of recording, and the number of speakers. This gives the transcription tools hints which helps with accuracy. It can take around 1/3 to 1/2 of the length of the audio time to transcribe, so be patient! You'll receive an email when it's done.

Select Audio page

Here you'll see your transcription and a list of speakers. Initially they will just be labelled "A", "B", "C" etc, so you can go ahead and rename them to your hearts content. You might also notice that we are in Edit mode, so if you like, you can click on a word to update it's spelling, or remove it. There is a whole lot more here we can talk about, but I want to get to the cool stuff!

Step 4

Click on the "Analyse" tab and you'll see the following:

Analyse your audio

Ensure that we've labelled our speakers, and corrected any spelling required and click on the "Analyse Audio" button. After a short wait, you should see something similar to the following:

A screenshot showing the analysis of our content

As you can see, we have an overview, which tells us the general topics and tone of the conversation, followed by some suggested Best Clips that can be used to generate videos. Clicking "Select audio", will select the clip in the wave file editor. You can then tweak the selection before clicking the "Create clip" button. Congratulations, you're on your way!

If you scroll down a little further however, you'll see something similar to the following:

SoundMadeSeen has offered some great suggestions for your social media posts! From here you can copy the text and post to social media straight away, or put them all into your scheduler to be released at your convenience.

Step 5

Sit back and relax! OK, you still need to make the video, but we already have that covered :)

Time is Money: The Efficiency Gains with AI-Powered Analysis

OK, I'm biased here, but I'm a podcaster, and I'm using this tool for all of my episodes. I've been incredibly surprised how much time this has saved me, even though I built the thing! What once would have taken me a few hours has been compressed into less than 30 minutes all said and done. I think that's remarkable and I'd love for you to try it out, which is why if you use the coupon code NOVEMBER23 on our sign up page, you'll get a 2 week free trial to SoundMadeSeen (the code will expire at the end of November). All right, that's enough of the hard-sell for now.

The Future of Audio Content Curation

As we look ahead to the horizon of audio content curation, the role of AI only grows more prominent and promising. The next wave of advancements will likely bring even more nuanced analytics, capable of understanding cultural idioms, humor, and complex emotional undertones with human-like accuracy. This evolution will pave the way for hyper-personalized content recommendations and automated highlight reels tailored to individual preferences and behaviors. For creators and consumers alike, the future beckons with the possibility of time-saving tools that don’t just curate content, but also craft compelling narratives that once required a human touch. I believe that SoundMadeSeen will be part of this future, and I hope that you'll join me.
